Half Day Kayak & Cave Tour

Today I will be giving a kayak tour to the staff of the Palau Cove Resort Hotel, which has been a great help to us.

I was worried about the weather since you will be joining us on your precious holiday. But no problem, it is a perfect day for kayaking.





All three guests were almost new to kayaking, so I gave them a paddling lesson on land.

Everyone was a little nervous at first, but soon they were paddling well.Now, the Nikko Bay Adventure begins.




Even if you live in Palau, many people do not know that there is such a beautiful ocean right near Koror Island. There is also such a nice shoal about 5 minutes further on from the port.




The tide was low in the morning, allowing kayakers to pass under the rock island. The conditions are really good. Blue sky and white clouds reflected on the surface of the water. A day like this is the best day for paddling.




Once you get used to paddling, kayaks can easily pass through even slightly narrower channels. In calm inlets, you can hear the chirping of wild birds, which is really pleasant.

Today’s guests usually work at the Cove Resort Palau. The name of their hotel must be a reference to the comfort of such a beautiful cove in Palau. In fact, it is a beautiful building, tastefully furnished, and always feels crowded even in Palau where the number of tourists has decreased due to the Corona disaster.

It is a bit far for first time kayaking, but we had some requests, so we went to the Emerald Cave. Considering the time from the port, it takes about 40 minutes. Everyone looked a little tired, but they did their best.




At first glance, it is a bit dark, but when sunlight shines into the cave, the emerald green surface of the water is beautiful. The locals also call this place Bat Cave, but I call it Emerald Cave. I think it sounds better that way.




Leaving the cave, we paddled on the return trip. Today’s guests, who had never kayaked before, have improved so much that they look like full-fledged paddlers.





Snorkel time with kayaks tied to a floating dock near the harbor. As expected, the two women were tired and took a short break. He and I enjoyed snorkeling for a while.

I think kayaking is a little tiring if it is your first time. However, we had a sense of accomplishment by paddling by ourselves, and I think we felt a pleasant sense of fatigue.
