Today we went a little farther, paddling to a cave.

The weather was a bit overcast, but the wind was calm and conditions were good for paddling.

After a little paddling, it was time to snorkel in a calm cove.

Nikko Bay is an inner bay, so at a glance, there are not many fish. However, if you observe carefully, you can see many small fish near the corals.

Some of the fish we see are normally found only in brackish water. This is because Nikko Bay is brackish on the surface and saltwater underwater in some areas.

Further south in Nikko Bay, we arrived at the cave. Locals call it Bat Cave because small bats live here. During the day they sleep on the ceiling, but if you visit at night, you will be amazed at the number of bats flying in.

There are many of them and they can come bumping into you. Personally, I recommend daytime because the pale ocean tones are more beautiful.

Today’s guest is very active, so we took some time to swim near the cave.

Squalls finally began to fall from the overcast skies. But it is only temporary and blue skies may soon appear.

Today, the first blue skies came out, so it’s time for pictures. Cloudy days are good for kayaking because it is not hot, but Palau is still beautiful when it is sunny. I was relieved to be able to take good pictures.

On the way back, the tide level has dropped so we can pass under the trees on Rock Island at a time like this. It is a bit of an adventure and quite a fun time to enjoy.
