Half Day Kayak & Cave Tour (Nikko Bay)
The weather was fine, the wind was calm, and we paddled in time for the morning when the tide was high.
Palau is the best season in the dry season when both weather and sea conditions are most stable. However, it was a bit too hot to enjoy kayaking, so we cooled down early today while enjoying snorkeling.
The bay of Nikko Bay is inhabited by small fish. Although not as dynamic as the ocean outside, the lack of waves and fast currents makes for a relaxing snorkeling experience.
After paddling for about 15 minutes, we arrived at Emerald Cave. This cave offers beautiful ocean tones when the sun shines through. However, clouds hid the sun when we arrived, so we swam and waited for the sun to come out.
A few squalls fell, but when they stopped, the clouds drifted away and the sun came out. After all, it is really beautiful when the sunlight shines through. In the ocean, laser beam-like rays of light illuminated the seafloor, which was also a nice atmosphere.
The next stop was Disney Lake, which can only be visited when the tide is low. The water level is still high at the entrance, so proceed by walking and swimming, and once you cross it, you will arrive at Disney Lake.
It feels as if you are visiting an unexplored region because not many people even come here. It is a luxurious time to swim slowly while listening to the chirping of birds.

On the way back, the tide level is much lower and the distance between the kayak and the coral is closer. This time of year is known as the spring high tide, as the tide drops the most during the daytime. Therefore, to avoid damaging the corals, tours are sometimes cancelled during low tide.
